Lines of Reality

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
-Albert Einstein

I was talking to him the other day and he was sitting across a black formica table that was noteworthy merely for the dotted texture of the surface.

Reminds me of those condoms with the dots for your pleasure. He said.

I glared at him from a place of confused misery and reminded him that my pleasure ceased to be his concern.

So touchy, he said.

I never want you to touch me again. I said.

Are you sure? He asked but he really said.

Of course not. I said.

Smile. He said.

I smiled. Like he said.

I want you. He said.

That’s all he really ever had to say.

None of this really happened but it certainly did in my mind.

Being a mortal human is a hard pill for us to swallow.

“Don’t bend; don’t water it down; don’t try to make it logical; don’t edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly.”

- Franz Kafka

“We have dreamed it: therefore it is. I have become convinced that everything we think and feel is merely perception: that our lives—individually as well as communally— are molded around such perception: and that if we want to change, we must alter our perception. When we give our energy to a different dream, the world is transformed. To create a new world, we must first create a new dream.”

- John Perkins

“Its all about venturing into the unknown and returning with a boon to humanity.”

- The KPB

“Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment.”

- Mohandas Gandhi

“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”

Lao Tzu

“where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence. And where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world”

- Joseph Campbell

“Take a risk. Fortune favors the bold.”
“What is the appropriate behavior for a man or a woman in the midst of this world, where each person is clinging to his piece of debris? What’s the proper salutation between people as they pass each other in this flood?”

- Buddha

“Sex relieves tension. Love causes it.”

- Woody Allen

“The only limits on what you can be, have or do are self-imposed. They don’t exist outside of you.”

Brian Tracy

“Beauty saves. Beauty heals. Beauty motivates. Beauty unites. Beauty returns us to our origins, and here lies the ultimate act of saving, of healing, of overcoming dualism.”

- Matthew Fox

I'm Dinelle Lucchesi and this, apparently, is my blog and it's called Anthrob. Here, I explore projects and ideas about how to optimize humans and build a more utopian society. Not totally unrelated, I also get down on futurism, music, anthropological revolutions and utopian science and tech. I am from California and sometimes I live in New York.
